Wedding FAQ
Welcome to the FAQ for the wedding of Anna Beyerle and Jacob Rosen. We hope to answer your likely questions and provide instructions on what you can do in the lead up to our special day.
You can now go to the RSVP portion of our website to declare your attendance plans already. Your early response will greatly help in our upcoming planning process. You can also start thinking about your travel arrangements and lodging considerations in Dayton, Ohio! More details are below.
How should I get to Dayton?
We chose Dayton as the location for our wedding not only for sentimental reasons, but also because it's conveniently located almost halfway between Anna (Louisville) and Jacob's (Akron) hometowns. For our friends and family flying into Dayton, there are several airports nearby. The Dayton International Airport would be the most convenient, if possible. Both the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky and Columbus airports are within about an hour’s drive, if you may pursue a rental car.
Where should I stay?
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Marriott at the University of Dayton for Friday and Saturday nights at the rate of $124 per night. Please make your reservation online (here’s a link to our block reservation page) or by calling (937) 223-1000 before September 6 in order to secure a hotel room.
How should I get to the wedding?
We strongly encourage individuals to not drive themselves to Carillon Historical Park (our wedding and reception venue) if they plan on drinking alcohol. The Marriott offers a complimentary shuttle within a five-mile radius, so we’d encourage individuals to wait for the shuttle at the hotel lobby. Please note the shuttle is by request only, and we encourage guests to group together to take the shuttle, and to allow plenty of time to reach the venue in case other guests are also utilizing the shuttle. The two locations are only one mile apart and we’d suggest not walking, especially at the end of the evening. You may also consider taking or Lyft, Uber or a taxi back-and-forth.
Will there be parking at the venue?
Yes, parking is free and available for guests. Please note that after parking in the main lot and reaching the main entrance, guests will be need to walk a short distance (about 10 minutes) to reach the Transportation Center building at Carillon Park. If you have any mobility issues, please contact Anna or Jacob and we will provide information about a handicap-accessible entrance.
Where is your reception and ceremony?
All Saturday events will take place at the Transportation Center at Carillon Historical Park, starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. The address is 1000 Carillon Drive, Dayton, Ohio, 45409. Both Carillon Park and the hotel are located on the same side of the Great Miami River as the University of Dayton campus.
What will be the format of the evening?
We’ll be following a slightly untraditional format, and are excited to do something different! We will be starting the evening with a cocktail hour, which will give Jacob and Anna an opportunity to welcome their guests before the ceremony and reception. The wedding ceremony will take place at sundown, followed by a dinner reception.
What time should I be there?
Our cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., and we encourage all guests to arrive to the venue no later than 6:30 p.m. to be on time for the wedding ceremony at sundown (approximately 7:15 p.m.)
What is your venue like?
Barring cold and/or rainy weather, the cocktail hour and ceremony will be held outside, with dinner and the reception held indoors. The venue holds a maximum of 120 people, which will provide for an intimate gathering of our closest friends and family.
Can I bring a date/my children?
Respectfully, we will be having a child-free ceremony and reception. The addressee(s) of your save the date and invitation are the individuals invited to attend both our ceremony and reception.
Will there be food and drinks?
Duh! We will have an open bar throughout the evening, as well as appetizers during the cocktail hour and dinner after the wedding ceremony. Our dinner will be a buffet, and will have many options for our vegan and vegetarian guests. If you have any specific dietary requests or questions, feel free to reach out to Anna or Jacob.
What time will the reception be over?
The reception will conclude at approximately 11 p.m. If you aren’t done partying yet, will continue the party at a nearby bar close to the University of Dayton campus.
What else should I do while I’m in town?
Anna and Jacob met while attending the University of Dayton, and have a soft spot for the city. Here are a few places we suggest visiting during your available time in Dayton:
The University of Dayton: A beautiful, walkable campus to explore. Students will be away for fall break, so the campus will be almost all ours!
National Museum of the US Air Force: An impressive (free!) museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. We already know Jacob’s Uncle Marty will be there, for sure.
Oregon Historic District: Downtown Dayton neighborhood filled with great bars and restaurants. Some favorite spots include The Trolley Stop, Dublin Pub, Thai 9 and Lucky’s.
Are there other festivities to attend?
There will be several other weekend events outside of the wedding ceremony and reception. All guests will be invited to attend these events, including a Friday evening celebration and a Sunday morning brunch - click here for more details.
